Multi-day, pop culture inspired camps, held at our classroom facilities and partner locations throughout Metro Denver.

Summer 2020 Camps

Pop Culture Classroom’s unique and diverse educational camps – which harness students’ existing interest in comics, movies, television, video games, and other pop culture topics – create one-of-a-kind learning experiences for campers and teachers alike. Each day of camp includes time dedicated to direct instruction, lunch (provided by students), outdoor recess, studio time to work on week-long projects, and free time to engage in a variety of pop-culture-themed activities.

How will virtual summer camps work?

Campers and Instructors will meet twice per day on Zoom. During this time, campers will get to build community with one another and receive direct instruction. Password protected meetings will take place at 9:30am and 3:00pm for 1 – 1.5 hours per session, totaling no more than 3 hours per day. During this time, campers will also receive tasks to complete during off-camera hours to improve art and literacy skills and work toward creating their final comic.

In addition to Zoom, camps will also utilize Edmodo – an educational communication, collaboration, and coaching platform used and trusted by schools and parents all over the world. If desired, students can join our private and monitored camp group. Here, students can continue to build community and share work while not together on Zoom. Using Edmodo, campers will be able to:

  • See tasks they may have missed if unable to attend a Zoom session
  • Access additional resources posted by instructors
  • Post questions, comments, or work-in-progress on a monitored message board
  • Respond to others’ posts
