Camp Pop Culture Con
May 27-31, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

For Ages 10-16

Pop Culture Con is upon us, and what better way to celebrate than to create some awesome cosplay for the occasion! Camp Pop Culture Con is a week-long opportunity for you to design and build a costume with hands-on assistance from Pop Culture Classroom’s teachers. In addition to learning traditional costuming techniques such as sewing and fabrication, our camp gives you the chance to use PCC’s 3D printer and Cricut die cut machines to assist with costume creations. As an added bonus, each camp registration comes with one badge for the student to attend Denver Pop Culture Con on Saturday, June 1st, and attend Costume Celebration at the con, which you can find more information about here: https://denverpopculturecon.com/attractions/costume-celebration/

Comic Book Camp
June 10-14, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

For Ages 8-12

From Peanuts to Batman to Lumberjanes, comic books offer something for everyone! Join Pop Culture Classroom for this exciting summer camp where you will explore the fantastic worlds of superheroes, fantasy creatures, and even people just like yourself, all while exercising your creativity and literacy skills. Each day, you’ll learn comic book storytelling techniques and receive hands-on art instruction from real-life comic book artists. Along the way, you’ll learn about and get the chance to use the same tools as real-life comic creators, including tablets, digital drawing software, and high-quality art materials for your final comic. In addition to a new love for the world of comics and their creators, you’ll finish the camp with a fully illustrated comic to call your own! Students do not need to have any experience in art or comics to join.

Camp Game On!

For Ages 10-14

Summer time means it’s Game On! at Pop Culture Classroom! In this summer camp,  we’ll be playing and analyzing all kinds of board and video games. Throughout out the week, you’ll also be applying what you’ve discovered about games to create a new board game experience of your very own! You’ll also have the chance to use our 3D printer and Cricut die cut machine to develop everything from your avatars to your final game board. Pop Culture Classroom is here to prove that games aren’t JUST fun. They also help develop critical and creative literacy skills. Come and experience ground-breaking educational programming centered around one of our very favorite summer pastimes: Games!

Camp Manga Madness
July 8-12, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

For Ages 12-16

You could spend your summer binging My Hero Academia, Sailor Moon, or Attack on Titan by yourself, OR you could join Pop Culture Classroom for our Manga Madness Summer Camp! You’ll be reading manga, watching anime, and learning from professional artists how to create stories of your own. In addition to consuming and analyzing content, you will receive manga-specific drawing instruction each day! By the end of the week, students will have created their very own finished manga.  Along the way, you’ll learn about and get the chance to use the same tools as real-life comic creators, including tablets, digital drawing software, and high-quality art materials for your final comic. Students do not need to have any experience in art, manga, or anime to join!

Role Playing Game Camp with the League of Wayfinders
July 29-August 2, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

For Ages 7-11

Pop Culture Classroom is proud to partner with League of Wayfinders for this unique, week-long summer camp on role-playing games! A journey of self discovery, empathy building, and critical thinking awaits you as you and a team of fellow game fanatics take part in a rich role-playing game experience. Not only will this custom, week-long, pen-and-paper role playing campaign be a ton of fun, but you’ll also have the chance to create and shape the game’s story along the way — all while developing your creativity and literacy skills! From creating characters to using a 20-sided dice, this summer camp will prepare you to tell epic stories and give you an all-new love for role-playing games. Don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind camp that story-tellers, gamers, and creatives alike will find engaging, educational, and fun!

Filmmaking Camp
August 12-16, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

For Ages 12-16

Summertime is full of major blockbuster movie releases, but its also a time to let your creative juices flow. Come enjoy the best of both worlds at Pop Culture Classroom’s Film Camp! Join this week-long camp to collaborate with other our teachers and your fellow campers to plan, write, shoot, and edit a short film — and all in one week! You’ll get to try your hand at a variety of filmmaking roles, including writing, acting, directing, set and prop design, and editing, to name a few. On the final day of the camp, you’ll even even get to screen your finished film for friends and family, plus bring a copy home with you to keep! Will you create a comedy, drama, or something in between? Will you utilize our green screen for special effects, or create props using our 3D printer? The choice is yours at Pop Culture Classroom’s Film Camp, where you’ll work to create something extraordinary!

We strive for every student who wants to attend our summer camps to have the opportunity to do so! We offer full and partial scholarships for students who meet the criteria detailed in our scholarship forms. Please submit the form at least three weeks (21 business days) before the start of camp. All forms will be reviewed by our staff and applicants will be notified within 5-7 business days (before the start of camp).
